Greetings CBQ Members, Spring is finally here and I have to decide whether to quilt or garden. Quilting is the easychoice, because even if you garden the weeds will return too soon. I want to take a moment to thank two special members. Thank you to Kathleen Beamand Tessa Phillippi for their service to CBQ. While they will both continue to be at our meetings they will be taking smaller roles. Thank you Kathleen for your service to the Guild. Tessa is moving to Lake Elsinore at the end of the month. We will still see her at our meetings. I appreciate her hosting our Board Meetings since Covid. Beginning May 3 our Board Meeting moves to Redlands Sewing Center at 9:00am on the first Friday of the month. Please try to be prompt. We want to get finished within the 2 hour parking limit! Rumor has it that Redlands is going to go back to enforcing the parking hour limits. Speaking of roles, the Board wants to bring forward the idea of some kind of an incentive for serving. Please come to the General Meeting in April so we can discuss it. The idea is that perhaps more members might step forward to take leadership roles if there was some type of incentive for serving. We have to get more members involved in leadership. We need fresh faces! The incentives could be a reduction in dues, a free workshop or two, or maybe a reduction in workshop fees. Maybe you have some ideas of alternativeincentives. We will need plenty of discussion and we won’t vote until May so everyone has time for careful consideration. We have some great upcoming workshops. Be sure to see Emily to sign up. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the April 26th meeting! Sharon Gillette
ROW BY ROW
ROW BY ROW has begun! We have 19 participating members working on ROWs. That means there are going to be 19 amazing quilts created in the coming months. If you are a ROW participant, this is what you need to do this month: ● Make a new ROW to coordinate with the original ROW in the bag you received. ● The original ROW should have a number pinned to it that matches the bag number. If it does not, please help out and pin a paper to it with the bag number. ● Your new ROW should be 8”-12” tall (finished), and 48” wide (finished). ● You may use some of the supplies in the bag you received, if any were provided. ● When your new ROW is complete, pin a paper to it with YOUR ORIGINAL NUMBER. This will tell who you are when this project is all done. No name, just your original number written on a paper pinned to the ROW you make. For example: If you are number 7, every ROW you make gets a paper pinned to it with a 7 on it. ● Do not attach the ROWs together. Just add your new ROW to the bag. Bring your bag back to the APRIL meeting and get ready to do this all over again.
