Hello CBQ Members! The holidays are almost here. I can’t believe how 2024 has flown by. Thank you to all the members who have helped get donations from Fred Williamson. Jacki will be missed by so many of us. Fred wanted Jacki’s sewing things to go to the guild. Thanks to Alex, Diana Wheeler, and Lynn Garrahan for picking up fabric, books, and notions. Jacki had many quilting books. I thought the best way to handle them was for Lynn to look at them and put the most interesting ones in the library. The rest we will share with you at the Holiday Meeting. Jacki would love you to have them. She had some beautiful fabric and notions which will be in Sew What in January. We still have 2 four drawer file cabinets from the donation from Mr. Riggs. If you are interested in them let me know as soon as possible. If no one is interested by Nov. 12, we will donate them. We appreciate Jeanne Stellar’s generosity in letting us store things in her garage. Thank you so much Jeanne. Please keep Stephanie Stark in your thoughts. She is healing from an injury. Please bring holiday or winter quilts to the Dec. 6 meeting for Show and Share. All of your new projects are welcome, too. I think many of you have made some gorgeous gifts for family and friends. If you haven’t wrapped or mailed them, please share them with us. Please read the holiday party article so you know what to bring. I will bring bottled water, coffee, and hot water for tea. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the December meeting. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Sharon Gillette
ANNOUNCEMENTS
HOLIDAY PARTY
Good morning on this beautiful Fall Day. Up here in Lake Arrowhead it is sunny, breezy, and 54 degrees. The leaves are starting to change, and we are inundated with the heaviest acorn crop I have ever seen! The little squirrels don’t have to hunt very far to stock up for winter. The bears are out in full force dumping my trash barrels every night. They have figured out how to remove the bungee cords to get the supposedly secure lids off! Down to business, I have thought long and hard about the potluck assignments. Everyone always warns about the need to divvy up the menu according to alphabet. Their concern is we will get too many rolls and no main dishes. But I like to live on the edge. So, there will be NO ASSIGNMENTS! Bring what you wish. If a main course is your forte, by all means, we would love you to bring that dish! But if you are an awesome baker, bring your best dessert! If you are short on time, throw a salad together. Appetizers and dinner rolls are also a quick go to. We appreciate anything you bring. At our meeting last on Oct 25th, we were able to coax 12 members to “volunteer” to bring a centerpiece. I thought a contest would be fun, but it was brought to light that no contest is needed. The following list are those who volunteered. One volunteer escaped without giving me her info. So, if you volunteered and are not on the list, please contact me. The color of the table coverings will be red. (Just for a tiny bit of direction). Please deliver your centerpiece 15 minutes early. ANGEL TREE
At the October Meeting there was discussion about gift card receipts. If you give a gift card to your foster child, please bring the receipt to our Xmas party in an envelope with the foster child’s name on the envelope and I will give it to Lae. In the past I and others have had issues with gift cards. Having the receipt makes all the difference. Also, for those that are giving dolls to their foster child. I will have doll quilts at the Dec meeting that you can put with your doll. Again, any questions please feel free to contact me at 909 649 2333 (cell). - Phyllis Rattely
ROW BY ROW
ROW BY ROW for this year has been completed. At our August Mtg we did have several Show and Share from the recent efforts and also some from the past. Here are a few images of the fun that surrounded these efforts.
Thanks to all who have participated.

SEW WHAT TABLE
Hello everyone. Happy Holidays and I hope you’re enjoying the winter season. Due to our Holiday get together, Sew What will not operate. However, January will continue as normal. We have made it through another year full of wonderful quilts, crafts, and great times together. I look forward to another year with you all. Thank you. - Alex Apodaca
