CALL FOR QUILTS!

"STITCHING A COMMUNITY TOGETHER"
The Southern California Council of Quilt Guilds is issuing a call for quilts to be exhibited January 17-20, 2024 at the Board to California Quilt Show. "Stitching a Community Together" is focused on how quilting brings us together. Our guild has been asked to provide at least one quilt along with its story of community. These may be individual quilts or group quilts, of any style or technique. The entry are due by Monday, October 23, 2023.

- The quilt must have been finished in 2021/2023 and be in good condition.
- The size constraint is that its perimeter should not be larger than 240" overall and no smaller than 48" overall.
- Embellishments must not protrude more than 1/2" from the surface of the quilt.
- The quilt must be made of fabric and quilted by hand, or machine, or both.
- It must be constructed of three layers and bound or closed around all quilt edges.
- Entrant must be a current member of an SCCQG Member Guild or an Affiliate member.
- Enter by mail or email. Mailed entries must include a color photo of the quilt with the title of the quilt and the Entrants name clearly listed on the back of the quilt (plain photocopy paper is okay). Emailed entries must include a separate digital jpeg photo named as follows: entrant's last name_(underscore)name of quilt.jpeg. For example: "Smith_sunrisemountain.jpeg". Each entry must have a short paragraph describing how the entry created a sense of community.

Using vintage and antique unfinished projects, they have lovingly turned these UFOs into finished quilts. These patterns, which retain for $14.00 each, were donated to us by Quiltfolk and are now on our website for you to use free of charge. WANT TO SELL YOUR CRAFTS, EXCESS SEWING NOTIONS OR EQUIPMENT, GOODIES FROM YOUR KITCHEN??
Look no further! In honor of CBQ's anniversary, Joyce Maggard is organizing a Homemade Marketplace to take place at our October meeting! This is to offer member an opportunity to show and sell arts and crafts that they have made, or are sewing related.
CBQ members and first degree relatives are invited to offer their any homemade items. Tables are available to rent for $20.00 so contact Joyce as soon as possible to reserved your spot! More information to come!!
