As we begin a new year at Citrus Belt Quilt Guild, I am genuinely excited about what lies ahead. Our guild has always been a place where creativity, learning, service, and friendship come together, and this year we want to build on that strong foundation.
We will continue inviting excellent lecturers and workshop leaders who inspire us and teach quilting skills that are useful, relevant, and fun to bring into our own work. We also want our meetings to be places where community grows naturally, where friendships deepen, and where every member feels welcome. And yes, we may even find a few more opportunities to enjoy good food together!
Most importantly, we will continue using our craft to care for others. Quilts, hats, pillows, and wheelchair caddies have a remarkable way of making people, especially children and our veterans, feel seen, valued, and loved. That spirit of service will remain a major priority for our guild, including the start of our scholarship program.
Lastly, I want to say a big thank you to Sharon Gillette for leading our meeting last month. I know you will join me and appreciate her for all her support to not only me, but our guild. Also, thank you Hollie for organizing and running our officer installation. You are so creative and a great speaker! Thank you for your generosity in spending time putting the installation together for us. It was so fun!!!
And or course I must thank our entire Board of Officers and Committee chair people. We are all joining together for our second year, which promises to be a very special year indeed. I look forward to a year filled with creativity, friendship, generosity, and joy. Together, we can make it a wonderful year for Citrus Belt Quilt Guild.
