.. More About Workshops ..
It was lovely to see so many of our members' smiling faces after the long holiday break. I hope to see even more of you at the upcoming workshops!
The January 30th workshop, “Borders and Corners” with Heidi Stagno, had to be postponed to a later date. I will be reaching out to those who signed up to discuss possible rescheduling dates. We had a wonderful speaker, Manny Caldera, who gave an engaging presentation on Featherweight machines and the Singer Corporation. Several members have requested that Manny return to the guild for a Featherweight maintenance class. I am currently working on scheduling this workshop and will share the date as soon as possible. If anyone wishes to contact Manny, his number is (626) 695-1151. On February 27th, Laura Greene will be teaching a workshop titled “Modern Geometric Flow.” Laura will guide us through creating modern designs with a focus on spacing, tone, and size. Fabric kits are available for $75.00. There are still open seats, so if you're interested, please contact me as soon as possible. On March 27th, Shelley Swanland will teach us how to create unique pieces of art in her workshop, “Plant Impression.” Shelley will show us how to use plants, leaves, and fabric to make one-of-a-kind scarves, book covers, cards, and more. On April 24th, Anelie Belden will join us to teach her techniques for making a beautiful 3-D Dresden block. We will also learn her stitch-and-flip method, as well as ruching techniques. Anelie is a nationally known pattern designer, author, and sewing instructor. May 29th Our fellow CBQ member Linda Deering will be hosting a workshop teaching us how to make project bags. These bags can be made in multiple sizes and can be used for any project besides quilting or fabric. They come in very handy and you can never have enough. Thank you, everyone, for supporting our guild and signing up for these fantastic workshops! If you have yet to take a Class with CBQ, I highly encourage you to do so. It’s a great way to get to know your fellow members and learn something new. Always feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Emily Smith 2nd V.P. (909)255-2452 [email protected] |
